About Family Thai Restaurant

Join us and celebrate Buffalo’s diverse culture with some great Asian food!

Located at 150 Babcock St, Buffalo, NY 14210, Family Thai Restaurant operates as a pan-asian restaurant serving Buffalo in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Buffalo is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Buffalo peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I ordered gluten free fried tofu salad and the Hta min poundβ€”mixed Veggies and chicken. I wanted to try Burmese food. The ratings for this establishment are spot on. I called in my order. The call was answered promptly and I received friendly efficient service. The meal was prepared and ready for pick up promptly. It was piping hotβ€”the salad was cold as it should have been. I really enjoyed everything. The rice was also delicious. Thank you for the introduction to Burmese food. I was en route to Canada and needed a gluten free meal with meat, veggies and starchβ€”no junk food. I have never had tofu prepared like this. The two dishes complement each other very well. I recommend this establishmentβ€”I visited the Babcock location. Enjoy!!!

We passed by this place many times and decided to finally sit down and eat.Wow the General Tsao chicken came out hot and delicious. The beef curry was also delicious. I will definitely come back again and again. This will be the place from now on I order Chinese, Burmese and Thai food. I would give 10 stars if I could. Give it a try you will be glad you did. Oh and dining and atmosphere was very nice.

A small business in South Buffalo with big flavor. I ordered beef curry(Thai spicy to be specific) and an appetizer of Tom Kha Gai. I wish I knew the flavor the soup had as I had stomach surgery last year and was able to eat every last bite of it. The beef curry was good too with just the right amount of spice but being that I filled up on the soup, I only ate a few bites. I really need a quart of that soup next time not just a 16 oz container!

I had a great experience at Family Thai. The food was excellent from start to finish. The Burmese milk tea was honestly one of the best drinks I’ve ever had; rich, flavorful, and really memorable. The crab rangoons and samosas were both fantastic with no complaints at all. We also ordered the chicken rice noodle soup and a stir fry over rice, which were warm, comforting, and exactly what we were hoping for. The fish curry was also very flavorful and well done. The only small downside was that there were some loud kids running around, which took away from the atmosphere a bit. But it’s clearly a family-run place, so it’s understandable. Overall, the food absolutely made it worth the visit and I’d definitely come back!

Showed up with a big group of friends on Sunday lunch time. The restaurant had plenty of seating available so it was easy to get a big table to accommodate our party without any wait time. The food was delicious but it took the kitchen a long time to make it. Staff was very friendly.
